Achieving Reach Through Verified Engagement

Targeted Readers

Targeted Readers

The primary distribution channel for Professional Leader Magazine is Nicholas Hill Academy's extensive client database, which we have been building since 1996. The academy delivers ILM Recognised training courses in leadership, management, and sales development. Typically, our clients include training buyers and HR managers, while our course participants include leaders, managers, and sales professionals. Each issue presents ideas from our course material, so readers have a vested interest in each issue.

A Trusted Network

Nicholas Hill Academy has delivered training to more than 700 organisations since 1996, spanning corporates, SMEs, government, and non-profits. Some clients have active training contracts, while others remain subscribed to receive the publication. Our clients represent over four million employees, providing a credible network for Professional Leader Magazine. Not all of these employees receive the publication, of course, but many managers do and tell us they forward it to their teams.

Long-Term Relationships

Long-Term Relationships

Many organisations within our client portfolio have engaged with Nicholas Hill Academy for several years, with some relationships lasting over 30 years. In several cases, original contacts have since been succeeded as leadership teams evolve. We continue to reconnect with established organisations while cultivating new contacts within them. This reflects an active network for showcasing Professional Leader Magazine, demonstrating both historical trust and ongoing commercial engagement.

Click-Through Rate

Before Professional Leader Magazine, our previous publication, Managerial Magazine (2015-2018), achieved an average Click-Through Rate (CTR) of 7.56%. Our current opted-in database of more than 6000 contacts (clients, prospects, course participants, associates, and suppliers) yields a 5%-12% CTR. A second campaign in the following quarter generates a 2%-6% CTR. In addition to clicks, these campaigns naturally generate new subscriptions, unsubscribes, soft bounces, and hard bounces.

Professional Leader Magazine Readership

Magazine Readership

Traditional print magazine publishers use a 6x to 10x Pass-Along-Rate (PAR) to estimate readership based on physical redistribution. However, digital readership is measured by active engagement and shared distribution. For Professional Leader Magazine, we apply a conservative PAR that reflects how often digital copies are forwarded. We use a 6x PAR for our opted-in client database and a 3x PAR for other campaigns. This approach reflects the publication’s realistic readership.
