Who This Opportunity Suits

This opportunity is for applicants whose work, achievements, profile, or influence warrant an editorial interview in Professional Leader Magazine. It is intended for recognised figures with a proven public record. Applications may be submitted by the individual or by a representative acting on their behalf. All applications are reviewed for editorial fit, relevance to the readership, subject strength, and the applicant’s ability to support a substantial interview suitable for publication, promotion, and archive use.

Preferred Qualification Criteria

Applicants should ordinarily meet one of the following criteria: best-selling author, media personality, national icon, recognised public figure, world-class achiever, renowned thought leader, record-breaker, or accomplished adventurer. Equivalent profiles can be considered when public achievement, market impact, or authority is evident, as reflected in media coverage, published works, accomplishments, or influence. Qualification supports consideration but doesn't guarantee acceptance.

Online Interview Format

Interviews are held remotely via Microsoft Teams, led by Master Trainer Nicholas C. Hill FCMI FIoL FIC, in a structured, conversational format suitable for publication. Questions may cover career development, experiences, methods, challenges, decisions, lessons, beliefs, turning points, and current work. Applicants should prepare for direct questions and detailed follow-up. The discussion targets a serious readership, aiming for a complete, publishable conversation on real workplace problems and solutions.

Recording and Timeframe Details

Recording and Timeframe Details

Interviews are conducted online and recorded in both video and audio. A standard interview lasts one hour and is followed by post-production work, including transcription, editing, framework development, and the addition of retrospective contributions from the interviewer, which provide further depth and context. Unabridged interviews run for two hours and require fewer retrospective comments. Interviewees must join from a quiet setting with a stable internet connection, suitable lighting, and clear audio.

Editing and Added Contributions

The interview will be reproduced as a clean verbatim transcript and then edited, condensed, expanded, rearranged, retitled, extracted, or adapted. The publisher might add introductory copy, headlines, captions, summaries, notes, pull quotes, standfirsts, commentary, and other editorial content. While the published version will differ from the original recording, the conversation's substance and the interviewee’s voice will be preserved. The publisher may also create alternative versions to suit different audiences.

Publication and Promotion Terms

Publication and Promotion Terms

Accepted interviews may appear in the digital issue, on website pages, in promotional emails, on social media, in marketing assets, on archive pages, and in other formats. A mailshot is sent to our opted-in database and partner databases. The published interview and issue are then promoted for at least six months. Promotion may include full interview pages, extracts, images, clips, quotes, references, and links to related assets. Publication date, issue placement, and promotional timing remain at the publisher’s discretion.

Complimentary Single-Page Advert

Selected interviewees receive a complimentary single-page advert, valued at £1199, in the associated magazine issue, which remains in the digital edition and in future print versions indefinitely. Ad placement and mechanical data are determined by the publisher. Advert content must be lawful, accurate, appropriate, and delivered by the deadline. This free advert is a token gesture. It is separate from the interview and does not constitute payment, remuneration, royalties, profit sharing, or a commercial deal.

Publisher Rights and Copyright

Formal interview terms are issued before recording, which cover consent, publication, copyright, editing, reuse, promotion, and archive use. The publisher is granted perpetual rights to record, transcribe, edit, publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, promote, and commercially use the interview across all formats. This includes the interview itself, related extracts, stills, clips, transcripts, headlines, and adapted editorial versions. Rights for publication are secured in the signed terms prior to the interview.

Interviewee Usage Permissions

Interviewees are permitted to use the published interview and media from the publisher for promotional or commercial purposes. This encompasses sharing the PDF version of the published issue, press kits, links, pages, clips, images, and approved assets across websites, social media, presentations, and marketing channels. The interview and supplied media cannot be edited, relicensed, sold, rented, republished separately, or altered into a new version without prior written approval.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are reviewed editorially and do not guarantee acceptance, correspondence, scheduling, or publication. The publisher may accept, decline, defer, shortlist, request more info, or invite a later application. Applications must include the applicant’s name, role, organisation, website, contact details, profile summary, qualification basis, and reader benefit. Authorised agents may apply on behalf of clients. If selected, the applicant is contacted to discuss fit, timing, production needs, and terms.

Legal Terms and Notice

Selected applicants must sign a formal agreement before recording, consenting to the use of their name, voice, and appearance, and to publication, editing, copyright, reuse, scheduling, cancellation, liability, and applicable laws. The publisher may postpone, reschedule, edit, withdraw, or decline publication if legal, editorial, technical, reputational, or practical issues arise. Interview participation is voluntary and at the interviewee’s own cost unless otherwise agreed in writing.
